Is “Islamic Political Thought” a refereed journal?

Yes, it is. “Islamic Political Thought” is a fully peer reviewed journal. It follows double blind peer review policy. The journal strictly maintains the academic review policy and publication ethics.

What is the frequency of the journal?

Two issues per year.

What papers can I submit to the Islamic Political Thought?

To our journal you may submit the following types of manuscripts: Research Article, Review Essay, Commentaries, Review Article, Case- Study, Methodology, Applied Articles, Conceptual paper, Book Reviews and letter to Editor-in-Chief, accepts in this journal.

In which languages does the Journal of Islamic Political Thought accept articles?

Articles must be written based on English rules and grammars but articles in Persian can send for Initial Review.

What if the language, grammar or structure of the paper is very bad?

Islamic Political Thought encourages authors to double verify the grammatical corrections before being submitted to the editorial office. Before assigning the submitted manuscript by the authors to the reviewers, editorial office ensures that manuscript with very poor English is not sent to reviewers. However, a paper with poor English and with the errors, the paper should be returned to the editor with the request that the authors have the material edited for content before re-submitting it for peer review.

What ethical principles should be upheld by the authors of articles?

The Journal of Islamic Political Thought strongly emphasizes on ethical principles for publication to be closely followed by all authors aiming to publish in this journal. Full details of the ethical obligations can be found in the “Publication Ethics” section.

What is a ‘Conflict of Interest’?

Any financial interests or connections, direct or indirect, or other situations that might raise the question of bias in the work reported or the conclusions, implications or opinions stated – including pertinent commercial or other sources of funding for the individual author(s) or for the associated department(s) or organization(s), personal relationships, or direct academic competition.

What happens if one review conflicts with that of another reviewer?

The final decision of whether to accept or reject a particular manuscript lies with the Editor-in-chief or assigning Editor. The editor will weigh both views and may call for a third opinion or ask the author for a revised paper before making a decision.

What is the policy of the Journal Islamic Political Thought in case of plagiarism?

Please be informed that the Journal of Islamic Political Thought takes plagiarism very seriously, and if any type of plagiarism is noted and proven, the manuscript will be withdrawn from the publication process. If the plagiarism is encountered after the article is published, an explanatory notification will be published about the case in the following Issue, and the article will be removed from the online archive of the Journal. Moreover, authors submitting plagiarized materials will enter a black list and the affiliated institutions will be notified of the plagiarism.

What characteristics would influence acceptance or rejection of a manuscript in the Journal of Islamic Political Thought?

Articles should be in line with the aims and scope of the Journal and have a sound research structure. In addition to observing the scientific structure of an article, novelty, reliability of findings, validity of methods and techniques, and trustworthiness of references and resources are among the most important factors influencing the acceptance of a manuscript. Articles should demonstrate quality research related to all interdisciplinary fields of study to warrant publication in this journal. Articles that merely express issues superficially or only in the form translation of documents or repetitions, without any critical review of the literature, will have little chance of acceptance.

Is it possible to add to, remove or rearrange authors included on the paper after the manuscript has been submitted?

The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper. Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscripts and provide the definite list of authors at the time of the original submission. Only in exceptional circumstances will the Editor consider (at their discretion) the addition, deletion rearrangement of authors after the manuscript has been submitted and the author must clearly flag any such request to the Editor.

How much time does the journal take for complete review process?

The initial appraisal of the form, structure, and the content of a manuscript will usually take 7 days. The results of the initial appraisal will be delivered to the Editor –in- Chief. In 7 days, the Editor gives his final suggestions and decides whether the article should be sent to the reviewers or not. Reviewers are required to announce the results of peer-reviewing within 2 months. This time might be shorter based on the workload and the number of manuscripts submitted to the Journal. The Journal of Islamic Political Thought tries its best to give the final results of peer-reviewing of articles as soon as possible.

How many papers can I submit to one issue?

Only one paper can be submitted for publication in a single issue as corresponding author and one paper as co/author.

What can be done if ones forget their password?

The initial appraisal, processing and publishing of manuscripts in the Journal of Islamic Political Thought are free of charge. All publication costs in this journal are paid by Imam Sadiq University.
